Goodwill Inspirations

Watching the Nate show one morning, I was so inspired with his guest. Since then I have followed the guest on Twitter and become his fan on facebook. Goodwill Hunting can turn trash to treasure and has what looks like his own groupies. Folks that don't mind digging through items that they can reuse and repurpose with pride. Today while I was browsing through my local Goodwill store I was inspired by denim jeans. I have lots of ideas on what I can do with them. But first I had to wash them and I really enjoyed hanging them out to dry in the 100 degree heat as well. They already look like art to me. Trash to Treasure

I used to think that vintage was old things and I knew that I enjoyed seeing and having them. Now that I am mature and vintage and I are about the same age I love vintage. Thrift store finds and garbage pickin's get me all excited. I found this dresser about 5 years ago and knew that it would be perfect in my hall area. All yucky faded brown it sat in the hallway with little use since it was hard to open some of knobless drawers. Being the bargain shopper that I am , I occasionally check the clearance paint aisles for returned cans of paint. Then one day in Walmart there it was a strange eggplant color that I had considered at full price was only $5.00. Then a search for the brushed silver knobs made the dresser functional. I had known that the mirror would be perfect placed above the dresser and the picnic baskets would fit under. All of the glassware had been gifts from friends and the frame cross stitch I had done myself when I had more patience and vision. So there it is a hard to decorate awkward hall corner for about $100.00 bucks. I like it. Inspirations pages http://www.etsy.com/storque/spotlight/get-the-look-decor-all-you-need-is-love-12474/

Happy Valentines Day Shortie

I created these shorts as an item that I thought would be perfect for lounging at home. I imagine that college students could comfortably curl up with a book, i pad or lap top and enjoy these snuggly flannel shorts. Cute enough to wear at the gym and comfortable enough for all day lounging. Since I enjoy wearing mine so much I know that they are not just for the young, but the young at heart too.
